Default Hello from (a fellow hoarder) in Phoenix, AZ!

Hello everyone! I registered a few months ago but have basically been lurking since.

It started off simply, I got on an anti-chemical spree at the start of this year and started hoarding spathiphyllums (for cleaning the air) and then for some reason decided they needed pretty pots to live in. Posessed by temporary insanity I decided that Ikea, on a Saturday, was a good place to find them. I found zero appropiate pots, but I did find four adorable little phals (in an inch of standing water ) and remembering how my mother always had phals everywhere I figured I'd give it a go. I got a great lesson in root rot and rehab with those little guys, and my mom was so pleased that boxes from Hausermann's started showing up on my doorstep!

Eight months later and I'm up to 10 phals (would be 15 but I lost the original 4 plus another 1 in a terriible scottish terrier accident), 5 catts (including a massive Lc. Betty Ford 'York'), and a lone B. cuculatta. I think I need me some phrags, and masdevallias, and a greenhouse...

Anyway, I figured it's about time I be sociable and stop lurking, so here I am! I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and to continue learning about and caring for these lovely plants.
