Hi Everyone!

I'm a new kid to the site and am looking forward in catching up on what's gone on and learning from everyone. I've only been an orchid grower for about the last six months but they have always been my favorite flower. Needless to say I am now hooked and it is hard to think about anything else.

Happy New Year to All of You! Lisa

Hi Everyone! Male
Default Lisa, wait until you get into some of the

very different types that are for the most part forgotten. In addition to the everyday, run-o-the-mill types, it's nice to pick up something that unless you are an orchid lover, nobody else realizes that it is one. BTW, welcome to a great place to talk orchids!

Hi Lisa, Welcome!
So, what orchids do you have? Becoming "hooked" is something we all relate to. There is no other plant species that have such charisma. It's like reading an endless novel you just can't put down. They certainly capture the heart. Welcome to OB. We love hearing from you. kiki-do

Hi Lisa...welcome to the best place in the world!

As Gregg said, the more you learn about orchids and all the fabulous varieties available, the bigger your collection gets...very quickly!

We'll be starting a new OB Project the first week of March...folks from around the world discuss a number of orchids and decide on one that we all buy and then compare our growing progress. During those discussions, dozens and dozens of orchids are researched and although only one of them is the chosen 'chid, many of us are introduced to orchids that we never knew existed...and of course...buy them!

We look forward to hearing more from you. Feel free to jump right into a conversation...our members are the friendliest, most generous folks around

If you need help with anything, let us know

Hi Lisa,

I'm curious to which Orchid you decided to buy first? I'm debating my first.

Again welcome to this forum.

Welcome to Orchid Board, Lisa - the greatest place on earth to share your interest in orchids! What kinds of orchids do you have?

I will definitely second Sue's suggestion about the OB Project - consider joining in if you can! Its a great way to learn about a wide variety of different types of orchids - and its really good fun!
