Orchid Lover from the Paris of the Piedmont, NC
Hi All - having become an orchid fan after my Mom passed last year (now that's a downer of an introduction), I've been reading this board for quite some time.
So, I received two orchids as condolence gifts, and became fascinated by them. In bloom, out of bloom, it doesn't really matter to me, they're just amazing. My husband decided my hobby is much less expensive than my other one - horses - so he's offered to turn a small bedroom closet into a tiny orchid house. At some point, I'll have my list of questions of how we can do this and remain married.
My collection so far, and this is from memory so not to be trusted, 1 Neostylis Lou Sneary, a mounted Meiracylium trinasutum which is currently living outside hooked on a big maple, 2 oncidium, a couple cattleyas, and at least a half dozen cast off phals that my friends and relatives have either abandoned or nearly killed. At the moment, nearly all of them are living outside until I herd them into their winter pasture.
Looking forward to learning more about their care from you all!
