Hello Oscar Freak. Welcome to OB. This the exact place to share anything about orchids and gather knowledge to enrich myself. I am one of the lucky isolate parsons who live in a remote place where no one in our locality was interested about orchids before me. OB helps me to become a perfect orchid lover for forever.

Another welcome from California
Over the years, I've found this board incredibly helpful and informative - I think you're in the right place.
Glad to hear you're considering a cattleya. For me. one of the easiest orchids to grow. If you give them the right conditions, they actually seem to thrive on neglect - at least mine do. Whenever I try to pamper them, they get worse. Forget about them for a while and they reward me with vigorous growth and blooms - go figure!
My daughter just got back from a month-long trip to South Africa. Her pictures are amazing. Your country is incredible!
