Hi Stemn;Another fellow Helene !(thats Greek to all of you non-).I was in Athens this summer, did not occur to me to look for orchid growers,or orchids for that matter.Greece has a lot of beautifull native orchids ,but they are above ground in spring only.Anyway, tell us what is available in Athens to grow and more importantly what do you(or would like to) grow.
take care.

Many thanks to all of you!!
I can't say I am an orchid planter as I started growing orchids by accident! 2-3 years ago when I found a pot of nearly dead orchids round the corner and next to the rabish box. It was night time and I had no idea of what kind of plant I was taking home!
After a good, I should say nursing, this pot gave for 2-3 years beautiful orchids which I would love to show them to you if I find the way to upload photos here.
Last summer I had serious problem as they were infected by spider mites and I've had a very hard job on getting rid of them. Now I have 2 pots with younger plants and I just hope to see good results.
The type of my orchids is I think Cymbidium.
My best regards to all of you, and I am glad to be here. Geia sou Spiro!
