Hola a todos [Hello to all]
My name is Scotty... I'm a transplanted Norte Americano...
originally from the Central Valley of California... now spending most of my time in the State of Colima, on the Pacific Coast of Mexico.
Actually, my time is divided between both locations, as my parents are still alive, but quite elderly, and are now in need of more help.
My Orchid growing experiences began in the late 60's... and my curiosity has never abated. When I moved to Mexico, about 12 years ago, I took a modest amount of my collection with me, and the rest have been cared for [in the states] by a good friend.
I have spent the past dozen years searching [when time permitted] for the Orchids found in Western Mexico, photographing as many as I could, and setting a lot of seed pods.
It is quite rewarding to re-visit a location several months later and see a fair amount of maturing pods, [my contribution to the survival of the species], hehehe.
I am a conservationist, removing/collecting only those plants that have been decimated by construction projects, or natural disaster, and realize that without help, some will be lost forever.
As a result, I have selected the following as my 'motto':

Protect and Conserve Orchids, Wherever You Find Them.

I'm happy to have found this Forum, and am looking forward to being a participant.
Scotty.

Wonderful tour of your area, Scotty. Welcome and please keep posting photos or adding to your library, so we can enjoy what you see every day. Up here it's snowing, so some of us enjoy photos of the warmer areas of the word.

Scotty, and I share your understanding about conservation and enjoy seeing and preserving nature. In my gallery I have some pictures of some wild orchids in Florida and some other things I found interesting. I loved your volcano pictures. Looking forward to seeing more of your finds.

Hi to all... for those that would be interested... I've added some photos to my album that are NOT traditional from Mexico. I've been a Paph and Phrag fancier for years... and have posted some of my favorites; species...
hybrids... and vinicolors. Pop on over and have a look...
Scotty.
