If Kelly's Korner Orchid Supplies is there, they might have some smaller slabs. They're the only vendor I sell it wholesale to.

Hi nikkik, and thanks for the info Ray. I checked out the vendors list and it appears Kelly's corner is not at this particular show.

Ray, I drove by Creative Hydroponics today. It is just like I thought, I've driven by a million times and never noticed it. THey don't have a storefront that I can tell there. Is this a place I should call in advance? or can I just show up and knock on the door? Do they sell the media I will need to get started putting a few plants in Semi Hydroponic production? ALso I have an idea for a type of hydroponic production using some excess aquariums I have lying around, and some pumps.

Their primary business is tropical foliage plants for offices (grown in semi-hydroponics, by the way), so they are out-and-about a lot. it used to be that they were open to the public of Fridays and Saturdays (I think). The driveway is a "U", and the "store" greenhouse is in the middle, farthest from the road.

Very Good,
I will try to dig up a phone number, and ask them some stuff. Noteably if the have the media I am looking for.
Thanks again Ray!

Thanks for your background, CJ! I, too, have a wife that enables me to keep the orchids. It's the only think that keeps us sane during the cloudy and colorless winter days here in northern Michigan. Welcome to the board, and I look forward to hearing more about your greenhouse adventures. Even though you say it's crude, us windowsill-growers still envy you! :-)

Hey upnorthorchids,
I also grow on a windowsill too. I have all kinds of plants all over. The greenhouse is a huge help though. I have some upgrades planned, including redoing the door, and back panel, as well as adding another segment on to it. So far it has seved very well, in what has turned out to be a very brutal winter. Over all, it is a wood frame with some 5-wall poly carbonate bolted on. I should post some pictures of it, along with some of the plants i just picked up at a recent show.
