Hi,

I recently joined this site and it is amazing. So much information! It is really helpful for a newbie like me. I started with a few (dont know what they were, no tags on them - was given to me by someone who moved house), they wouldn't flower, so I forgot about them. One day, I walked into my hothouse, (I have over 200 Bonsai) and there were all of them in the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen. I have been 'gobsmacked' since and have to hide my purchases from my husband. (As someone jokingly said, if I had to choose, I would surely miss him)

I am currently experimenting with grow lights and will keep you informed.

Welcome, Caroll! What a great combination - orchids and bonsai! How beautiful that must be. We'd love to see photos of your orchids - and you bonsai!! I have one orchid, Dendrobium jenkinsonii (thanks to Sue and Ross, here! Ha!), that really looks like a bonsai... I've even put it in a shallow bonsai type dish. When I get home from work, I'll take a photo of it and post it here for you. It looks like a miniature forest.

If you have any questions about Orchid Board and how to get around or do things, just ask!!

Hi Caroll,
Welcome to the OB!
We would love to see pictures of your hothouse and your bonsai/ orchid collection!

You may also be interested in miniature orchids- similar concept as 'bonsai'!
