Hi everyone, I'm from Singapore where its too hot to grow the cool growing orchids, so I joined this forum to 'drool' at all the phrags and cypripediums. We don't need a greenhouse here though. Hope to get to know more of you people.

I grow mainly bulbos, phals, dendrobiums, paphs, oncidiums, and other miniature ones including gastrochilus etc. Have 3 species of phrags and even managed to flower lindleyanum with the help of air con.

Other than orchids I grow many species of pitcher plants, VFT, Sarrecenias, pinguiculas, byblis etc of CPs. Also grow aroids, hoyas, gesnariads, cacti and succulents etc

It sounds like you are a real green thumb!

We would love to see some pics! I am a real phal fan.

We visit Singapore often! It is such a colourful place, with great food and ORCHIDS!

I am going to Singapore early next year!
It will be an ORCHID feast for me!

Hi Buds, nice to meet you too! I love australian dends but dont have many because they are quite ex here, especially the good grade ones. Haha perhaps we could exchange tips when you visit.

There would be Garden Tech festival on 7-11 Dec in Singapore which will feature the opening of hortpark as well as having international vendors like purificacion from phillippines. Anyone in Singapore in that period should pop by!

Aussie dens are nice, I have a few, they smell good too! My favourite ones are Den, speciosum- the really big ones (you can see them in my gallery).
What a pitty I can't make it to the Garden Tech Festival!

Welcome to Orchid Board! I've only been to Singapore three times in my life, but I loved it each time we went.

It seems that we orchid lovers are always wanting to grow the things that aren't suited to our environment! I would dearly love to grow some of the warm growing things that you grow.

I'd love to see photos of your plants - orchids and others alike! If you need any help, there are some excellent "HOW TO" threads on setting up a gallery here and posting photos in threads, etc.
