Welcome to Orchid Board

I've not seen the blue ones yet but I know the dyed ones are sold in the UK because someone at work was disappointed when they paid a lot for one then it turned white at the next flowering

Well it looks like it has worked. If it is dyed how do they manage to dye the buds that are only just showing from the spike.

I posted a link earlier in this thread that explains how they dye orchids.

They do not dye the blooms. They inject the flower spike with dye.

Looks like a dyed phal to me.

They inject the dye into the plants spike, If you look closely at the spike you should be able to see the spot that they injected the dye.

Yes, it's a dyed phal.

It will bloom white when it reblooms for you. Orchids simply do not come in this shade in nature.

Welcome aboard!
Don't worry about your Phal, it will be beautiful when it blooms again for you. The trick now is to see f you can get it to flourish and spike for you.
Many people buy these Phals, but are unaware that they have been dyed. There's unscrupulous people even in the orchid grower ranks, I'm ashamed to say. Anything for a dollar.

Yes it looks to be a dyed Phal. As others have said it's injected into the spike, and I have a memory that it's some sort of silver solution that gives the blue colour in the flowers.

It should be a lovely white phal with yellow hints on the lip when it blooms again
