My Introduction ... of sorts Male
Wink My Introduction ... of sorts

Hi there
My name on the Net is Graehstone and I am the stay at home Dad to four Parrots and husband to one, more than awesome, wife.
As to Orchids … hmmm, where to begin, I sat and thought about that for some time and after having nearly done myself a mischief and teetering on the brink of madness I decided to just come out and say it … “Hi, my name is Graehstone and I am an Orchidoholic!”
I am a disabled Vet and my sweety works “in the business” which was the only thing that made any sense to us at all as we are now able to totally immerse ourselves in Orchids, Orchids and (well, almost) nothing but Orchids and we never seem to tire of them in any way shape or form.
In our “heyday” (and still living in a two bedroom apartment mind you) we had around five hundred or so various Orchids mixed in with the cages and play stands, and that’s not even counting the … um, er … like ah, regular houseplants.
I think we had furniture too … some place, anyhow, it was so bad that the sister of the lady in our neighboring apartment made us a sign for our door saying “Welcome to the Jungle.”
We even gave a tour to a visiting Pakistani family once (they had family in the complex) when we caught them peeking through our windows and mimicking our birds … so I guess what I want to say is that … that … “We are hopelessly lost!”
We are seriously addicted … and to think it all started with someone’s throwaway Cattleya that just wouldn’t die no matter how hard we tried to kill it, lol.
A few months ago we were more than fortunate to have been able to find a somewhat affordable house to rent and … spread out a bit ... Lord help us.
I shall leave it at that for the time being and will most assuredly post pictures of what we had in the apartment and what my sweety built already here at the new house for our ever expanding collection.
Come to think of it, some of you might even already know my wife, lol.
(hint: we live in the San Diego area)
Hopefully I shall learn much from all of you and perhaps even make a friend or two … stranger things have happened.
May all your days be filled with Health, Love and Happiness and your nights with Passion.
Graehstone

Welcome to the Orchid Board. Great introduction. Nothing is worse/better than when a married couple each get bitten by the bug.
Remember to leave some orchids for the rest of us to buy. We like some too ya know

Welcome to Orchid Board Graehstone! I agree with Tin, great intro! I find it extremely sweet how you and your wife share your love for orchids! (and at the way you refer to your "sweetie") I love that! I think you will have a great time making new friends on here. Everyone is so warm and helpful. I have an African Grey and I know several other members on here have birds and/or parrots, such as Gin, flhiker, and DebsC off the top of my head. Be sure to post some pics of your parrots in the pet forum. We all love of orchids and animals! Great to have you here!

Default Welcome. Nice to meet you

It's a good thing we don't have to have room for our orchids in the space here.
