thank you! I look forward to getting a lot of questions answered about my new orchid. I love orchid's but I have been to scared to buy one for the fear of killing it. My mother bought me one for my birthday and it can with no directions at all on care for it.

I meant it came without care instructions. It took me a week before I figured out how to water it properly. I seemed to keep my orchid in bloom for 5 months and slowly it lost all of its blooms and now I am lost to what to do.... help please?

Do you know what kind of orchid you have?

If it's a Phalaenopsis (moth orchid) - a good possibility - check out the first pages, at least, of this thread http://www.orchidboard.com/community...ends-here.html

Welcome to Orchid Board

There are a lot of different orchid types with different care required, but as Sonya says a good guess is that it may be a Phalaenopsis (Phal for short) as that's the most common found in the mass market. The link Sonya gave is good but long so as she suggested take a look at the beginning even if the whole thing is too daunting.
