Like your sense of humor. I'm familiar with the plant in the first picture or something similar, in Central America we have them as well it is fun to touch the leaf and have them close up instantly. They also have beautiful purple flowers.

I understand they're native to Central America, but from what I've seen we grow a different variant here (green vs. brown branches, lighter leaves and flowers), who knows. I've been growing them for a few years now and mailing seeds to my friends all over the country (it isn't illegal here, but I've read this plant is too much of a weed in some parts of the world )

Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome. I sometimes feel bad looking at some members' numerous collections of fancy hybrids while I pretty much have a dozen NOIDs Pretty ones, though Orchid growing seems to be picking up in Bulgaria. Until two or three years ago all we had were Phals and the occasional Ludisia. Nowadays one can be lucky enough to find Oncidiums, Dendrobiums and in the big cities even some Vandas Cymbidiums are a very rare find still, even though they would be easiest to grow in our climate. Flower markets sell their cut flowers at quite high prices, so I guess they're protecting themselves from competition? How silly.
