Default Greetings from Michigan

Hello Everyone!

I have been some what of a lurker on the site for the last few weeks, and I finally decided to take the dive! I have been orchid obsessed since this past holiday season, and now I think about/look for them whenever I go to a store. lol

I own a total of 6 orchids so far... but I have purchased several for my mother and girl friend that I care for and grow. (I'm hoping that one day these gift orchids will produce backbulbs and other bonus plants that I can one day claim for my own, bwahahaha) Alot of my coworkers and friends think Im a little weird since most guys my age (24) aren't really interested in plants or flowers in general... but they dont know what their missing! My gf knows I'm a bit obsessed now, she is always tell me how I dont have any room for more or that I have enough... but I think she has pretty much accepted my love for them.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you and learning more from each other!

Welcome! I'm from Michigan too! Orchids are very addicting! It's like a chip, you can't just have one!

I live in the suburbs north of Detroit. There are several orchid societies in Michigan. Ann Arbor is a great society and I went to their show this year.

What major city are you closest to? I'm pretty familiar with many of the orchid societies here, since I travel to their shows and help setup my society's local show.
