Default Aloha from Hawaii!

I'm new to the islands and new to orchids... I picked up a dendrobium at the grocery store on a whim, because it was so beautiful and purple, and then I couldn't help myself at the nursery today and brought home a Phalaenopsis that is getting ready to bloom... I'm so excited to see what it looks like!

I'm jealous, you're in a perfect climate for growing a large number of orchid species, including a garden plants. Give yourself over to the orchid obsession :-)

The only sad part about it is that I'm only here for a few years, and then we'll be PCSing back to the mainland, so I probably won't be able to take a greenhouse back with me...

PCSing? Is it this? Permanent Change of Station - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I reckon you need to get friendly with some Navy people and find some space on a boat to ship back your plants
