deers, do they eat orchids?

Here in Maryland, the deer may have sampled the pots of Spiranthes out in back but you would never know from the size of the plants. They also have not injured a big tough leaved epicatt out by the mail box. As other posters mentioned they like to sample so I would not put anything outside that could not afford to lose a mouthful. They do prune my Taxus bushes into interesting bonsai shapes!
