Morning Peeps,

I am brand new. Not just here, but to any Forum. This is my very first experience. I am an Internet Virgin I'm afraid.

I am Lorna and I live near Liverpool in England (where the Beatles were from - yes).

My Mum started my passion for Orchids. She liked them so I bought her one. She loved it that much that I bought her another. Then I lived in You Tube learning about them and bought myself one. Then it was Birthday time and we got more each.

I was my Mum's Gardener and totally looked after all her Orchids which brought her extremely great pleasure.

My lovely Mum died last month unexpectedly and of course I have taken all of her Orchids to my small flat and I now have a grand total of 27 of the buggers!

Good job I have that passion for them now too.

What kinds are your 27 orchids, all Phalaenopsis?

I have also got the following varieties Discus.

Bulbophyllum lindeyanum,

Dendrobium Purpureum alba,

Dendrobium Similae,

Bulbophyllum Gracillimum,

Brassolaelio chung gui swan,

Masdevallia Andreettaeana.

Those last 6 I bought from Malaysia on eBay. They were to be 3 each for my Mum and I.

I did show her the fantastic images of the Orchids I had bought, but as they were seedlings, I re-potted all 6 plants when they arrived. Mum was already in hospital and so there would be no favouritism, I was going to let her choose three from the green seedlings and it would be a surprise which they grew in to.

Needless to say, I now have all 6 plants and you are right RosieC. They are a constant reminder for my Mum.
