Hello from South Africa Male
Default Hello from South Africa

Hi everyone

I'm relatively new to orchids but between my girlfriend and I we have started a pretty decent collection.

namely:
a few Cymbidiums
Dendrobium loddigesii
mini Dendrobium
Dendrobium nobile
Epidendrums
Odontocidium Wildcat 'Bobcat'
Oncidium alcra
Oncidium Lava Burst
Oncidium Twinkle
Phalaenopsis
Tolumnea Thriller
Vanda coerulea
Vanda fuchs gold x Ascocenda Guo Chia Long

We're keeping them outside with most of them in a small portable greenhouse/hothouse.

Welcome to the Orchid Board. Very glad that you were able to join. I believe you might be our very first hailing from South Africa!

It's an Epidendrum (poor man's orchid!)
It stands over 1 metre tall, the flower spike has been making new flowers constantly for the past 2 months, and no sign of stopping.
It's also a really hardy species, keeps popping new roots, keikis and flowers!

WELCOME!
Glad you can join us here at OB
Beautiful display and set up of your orchids
I see you have a little kitty that loves to get in the pictures .. From his action shot behind the cymbs to the 'Do I really want to go down there' pose behind the vandas.

You can introduce him/her in the pet forum for all the animal and pet lovers to see
(We have quite a collection of cat owners .. or should I say cats that own orchid lovers here)
