Hi OB, from the Beach! - Orchid Board

Hi there.

I've inherited the orchids in my house from my wife (who kind of ignored them until I offered), and have since become a big fan. I've read all the book the library has to offer (okay, flipped through, but most of the city's libraries!), and have now started inheriting orchids from friends and family.

Anyway, I've been trolling around on the internet and found a few forums (some are way to stuffy), so far OB looks great. Much much more to read, I just thought I'd join and say "Hi".

(I actually drifted in because I'm trying to help my aunt get her Dendrobium to flower, but it looks like I'll have to do more ID on it to figure out why it's not.)

You may find that dendrobium needs to have a dry winter rest; it's the most common cause of stubborn non-flowering dendrobiums.

I know what you mean. I joined a few others but settled here. One place was intimidating and cliquee, I ran away from another and one where it's hard to navigate.

OB is a great place with lots of wonderful and informative people (not limited to orchid growing). But be aware, addiction enablers abound here.
