We have been living in Florida for only a year after 25 in Texas. I LOVE IT??!! Never dreamed I would grow orchids but so far I am doing pretty good. Most of mine are phalaenopsis. I am also growing hibiscus and have already entered a show and won some ribbons. I grew roses in Texas but have had no luck with them here. Think I will stick to orchids and hibiscus.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I can see that I am going to enjoy being a part of this group. We live in NOrth Ft Myers. I am so enjoyng all the plants that grow here. Lot of difference than Texas. I have had most of my orchids for almost a year and they all burst into bloom at the same time!!!! I am awestruck! Now I am trying my hand at bonsai. I tired once years ago and killed everyone of them. So far the three I have are doing pretty good. One I bought as a bonsai and the other two are very small shrubs that I am training myself.

Welcome to Orchid Board! I'm originally from Austin, Texas but I've been in Florida since 1968.
