Default HELLO!

Hello to all out here in Orchid land!!! I'm a new-ish member to the board, but I've been hardcore collecting/rescuing orchids for a little over a year now. I got into orchids while defending helpless grocery Phals from my familys black thumbs over the last 5-6 years.

My Orchids.
I have 47 orchids, 3 which have Keikis in different stages of growth. My collection consist of phals, Oncindiums, Catts, Dens & a few odd balls tossed in because -> "So I was at the Farmers Market, Nursery, Home store, ect & saw this cool, funky orchid & my first thought was 'OMG Kelly would LOVE THIS' so I grabbed it for ya!" The majority of my collection is made up of Phals.

Me.
As mentioned above, my name is Kelly, some call me Kelz, doesn't matter. I'm from central, Fla (9b-10a) so I consider myself lucky to be able to grow orchids outside & have them be Happy, Happy, Happy (Whoa! DD fan). If you haven't figured it out already, I have the attention span of a highly caffienated squirrel! Along with a love of orchids, I'm also a HUGE lover of Animals & Makeup Junkie.

I can't think of anything else, about anything mentioned above, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask. I will try to find/post pics of my orchids eventually.

Welcome! You're in a fantastic place for growing orchids especially outside. I'm so jealous of you being able to grow phals outdoors, even here in a nice sub tropical climate the winters are too cold for most phals to be outside all year. Do you grow any out in the garden or are they all in pots?

The phals I have outside are actually in baskets, hanging under a huge Magnolia tree with my Vandas. They seem to love it there & being out of reach of my cats. As more of my insiders fall out of bloom & need to be replanted, I'm going to start moving them into the tree.
