Hi, I'm Chris, and I'm an orchidholic.

Seriously, I don't buy new shoes and hide them from my husband; I buy orchids and hide them from my husband.

While I have a variety of orchids I should learn how to care for better, my specialty are the "reed" orchids. My family has been propagating them since the '20s. Amateurly only.

Hoping to learn something and hopefully help someone else walk away with something as well.

Today I had a most fantastic find: 7 seed pods on 1 stem. Craziness!South florida orchid junkie-imageuploadedbytapatalk1367890327-332653-jpg

Hi Chris I'm the same way always buying orchids and hiding in the middle of the ones I already have...it is a major addiction. I love it..

Welcome to Orchid Board! You may also want to consider attending a meeting at one of the many orchid societies in Dade or Broward county. Orchid Board is great and orchid societies are another good source of information.

Thanks all.

I am learning all I can about seed propagation as I have yet to try it. Seems daunting. Thus far only my reeds and dendrobiums have produced pods. But I will give it the ole college try

Past the stage of hiding. I buy them, place them and tell anyone (the 2 kids have much to say as well) who is listening that the chids are here to stay. Plus for mother's day I chose orchids. Well they asked what I wanted
