Default just saying helloo

hi i,m a senior citizen from winnipeg, canada
temperatures dip to minus 30 or more here.
so orchid growing is difficult most of the times. i have preserveredfor approx 7 yrs and after slowly killing many orchids, mostly by overwatering, i,m slowly getting the hang of it.
i have about 20 orchids from phals to paphs dendrobiums and catleya
in the beginning i tried to grow anything and everything, and soon realized the impossibillity of that.so now i grow intermediate and cool growing orchids
i have a small, and i meansmall11 by 4 leanto, that i heat with 2 electrical heaters one for backup sat a a slightly lower temperature
believe it or not but i have over 200 plants in there.
mostly succulents,
as my orchid collection grows they,ll sadly enough have to go
well that,s a little about me and i am looking forward to be part of all of you on this great sight
ps i,m also new to computers and type everything still with 1 finger, maybe i can pickup some pointers about posting picturesetc yours truly snow

Hi, Snow, welcome to the Orchidboard! Have you thought about collecting mini orchids? You can get a lot of them and it only takes up half of the space.
On your typing, I would either get a computer program made to help teach you how to type, just practice, or both. I had a program to help me, but it took a lot of practice for it to really sink in and stick. Just keep at it!
If you have any questions, just ask.

Welcome Snow!
Orchidboard is a great place with a lot of great minds. It is so interesting because everyone has different plants and growing conditions. I am at the opposite end from you being in Florida, everything I grow needs to be warm growing, so I'll enjoy hearing about and seeing your orchids!

Are you keeping any Pleurothalids? If not, look into it. This group of orchids are cold to intermediate growers. All you will have to do is keep them humid all year round and cool in the summer. Welcome to the Orchid Board!!
