Any teenage orchid growers?

Hi, I'm Kate (19) I really can't say I'm an orchid grower since I bought my first yesterday, lol, but I think it is very interesting and I'll probably start getting into this hobby more!

Im 19 live in NE Kansas
I prefer to grow large blooming mostly mono-foliate Cattleyas. I only buy them if they are fragrant.

I'm 17 and live in mid-eastern Nebraska. I've been growing orchids since March 2011 and now have quite a collection. Over 30 blooming sized orchids and over 40 seedling orchids, so over 70 orchids total. I have paphiopedilums, phalaenopsis, phragmipediums, masdevallias, catasetums, cypripediums, potinaras, & oncidiums. And I don't have a greenhouse, I grow under lights. My favorites are the slipper orchids, especially paphs. I seem to like the rarer, more expensive ones. I estimated my orchid collection has a value of $430. Wow, I didn't know I spent that much.

Hey, there! I just joined the board, too. I'm just shy of being a teenager - I'm 22 XD

I live in Louisiana and I'm growing my one phal. I wanna make sure I do it right so I don't traumatize any more of them, ahem. She (Isis, my orchid) just finished blooming. Does anyone else name their plants? I imagine maybe not with the impressive collections you guys have!

Hi y'all!!

I'm 17, I'll be 18 in October.

I have over 100 plants. Mostly Phalaenopsis, I breed them and have some pretty exciting crosses in the makings. I also have a growing collection of Fukiran. And a mishmash of other random odds and ends such as Cattleyas and Dendrobiums.

I have been growing orchids for 4 years now.

I've also been doing a little breeding, with paphs. I'm trying to remake a rare/uncommon hybrid. I don't know if any are even around anymore.

Well... I WAS a teenage orchid grower. Sadly I outgrew that description a good 15 years ago
