Question New to the boards

Hello everyone. Hope you don't mind a Brit joining you boards - they look amazing.

I don't grow orchids at the moment, I used to, but what I do is collect old watercolour paintings of orchids. I love researching the history of the grower, painter and plant.

I've just acquired 9 painting by a gentleman by the name of Frederick Bolas who painted orchids for the North of England Orchid Society from about 1910 onwards. They have come from a relative of an orchid collector who worker for Frederick Sander 'The Orchid King'

The small problem I have is the names which are written on the back and the first part of the binomial is fine, but the rest of the name is difficult to decipher. Is anyone up for the challenge of a bit of detective work helping me identify them?

Thank you.

Thanks for the welcome, would the identification board be the best one?

I'll take some photo's tomorrow and post them with the partial names I have or can make out.

I'm sure members will do their best to help out. You do need 5 posts before being able to post photos.

Here's http://www.orchidboard.com/community...ng-photos.html should you need it

Welcome to Orchid Board there are quite a few of us Brits around the board so you are not alone

Yeah use the Identifiction section to post the name you have, and once you've made 5 posts you can add pictures. While you are waiting to get 5 posts take a look at some of the members posts with wonderful orchid photos and comment on those you like, that will help get your 5 posts
