Default hi, new subscribe..new grower

hi, i'm claudio, 25yo, from southen italy
i'm a new orchids grower... i'm trying to grow my orchids without a greenhouse, instead i'm growing them on my terrace with some protection from the coldest days of winter.
I have done a study of temperature and humidity...
in the winter, colder temperature is around 10/11 by day
, and 7/8 by night... summer's highest temperature could rise at around 45 degrees but just for few days...
humidity is very good, in this period 88%.. in summer 60% ... i have a good humidificator..just in case of low humidity...
They are protected from the rainfall...
The orchids take direct sunlight only in the early morning except laelia rupicole, they take a lot of sunlight

for now that's all..

i hope to meet new orchids lover!

greeting claudio

Hi Claudio

Sounds like you've got your conditions figured out...what types of orchids are you growing?
We'd love to hear more and pictures are a big treat for us

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate

Thats very nice that you don't experience freezing temperatures. What part of Italy? But 45 seems to be way too hot for anyone's comfort.
Welcome to the Orchid Board. Glad you were able to join.

I looked at your photos and your list! Wonderful collection! You've got some of my favorites...including Laelia reginae which about 22 of us here at Orchidboard have just purchased and will compare growth!

Very nice to have you with us
