Stop ourselves?
People do that?
I keep finding more ways to incorporate orchids into my home.
Heck I'm thinking of mounting orchids all over my backyard.

There is a reason that they call it "orchid fever" - it is like a disease; there have been times I said "I will not grow orchids again" - like after my house fire that claimed my entire collection. Three years later I had a thriving collection that started with "just one new orchid". There is no cure, but then I haven't really looked that close for one. Too much fun to be had!
Once they are in your blood, they never really leave.
Hope you enjoy your new hobby and that you find all the help you need here on the Board! Welcome!!

Thanks everyone. A local, small orchid shop has a weekly special on phals as low as $5 this weekend. These are plants past their bloom that he just wants to clear out. So I figure they are great plants to learn on. So much for resisting the urge to buy more lol.

Not sure if the pic will upload, but this is a plant given to me that was also in bad shape. It had been in a cubicle for 6 months, packed tight in very wet moss and most of the roots were dead. It has started growing a new leaf and new roots, but I am wondering if I should trim off the leaf in the foreground with the big cut in it. I have noticed that it is black around the edges of this very old cut. Should I leave it be? Also, it's hard to tell, but the lower leaf in the back is split from the tip down about a third to the stem - should that be taken off also? I don't want to remove these leaves if they are not harming the plant in any way.
Well, I tired embedding the BBc code to the flickr image following the tips for posting photos on this board, but it wont let me post -the board software complains about too many urls.
Well, never mind lol. I can't upload or embed any kind of pics - keeps complaining about too many urls? I guess new accounts restricted from embedding pics?

Joseia:
You need to just make two more posts - just log on and post anything - just post the numbers #1 and #2 for that matter, making the posts one right after the other; then with the sixth post you can add pics. It's confusing for everyone, but it keeps spam from entering the Board.
Welcome to the board, again, and enjoy your time here!
