I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT THIS BOARD. AM I SUPPOSED TO ERASE PASSED CONVERSATIONS SOMEHOW OR DO THESE JUST REMAIN FOREVER OR WHAT?
IF YOU CAN HELP WITH THIS I APPRECIATE IT.
JAMMINJOE
Nothing needs to be erased but we usually don't have these ongoing conversations in the Introductions area. There are other forums available for subject-specific talks and our Orchid Lounge for just "stuff" that we'd all be interested in. Have any pets? Check out our Pet Depot

You should post your pictures in one of the genus forums or in our special Orchids In Bloom forum...they'll have a better chance of being seen by more than our little group of friends in this thread

Thanks Joe for all your efforts! .. I was curious if you had one in your collection of vandas .. I will look into Burleigh, though.
For a newbie, you sure have picked up orchid enabling (or as I call it .. suggestion) skills quite quickly

I am looking forward to your photos whenever you have the time to post them

THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE SUZANNE
IM NOT PROFICIENT WITH COMPUTERS SO THINGS THAT SEEM BASIC TO MOST USERS ARE VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME.
I HAVE SOME PHOTOS OF MY TROPICAL GARDEN AND ORCHID COLLECTION BUT NO SPECIFIC GENERA - EVEN THOUGH I SEEM TO HAVE OVERACQUIRED VANDAS.
SO IM TRYING TO FIGURE WHERE TO POST THE PHOTOS.
I DIDNT KNOW I WAS IN THE INTRODUCTIONS COLUMN OR THREAD. I THOUGH I WAS TOOLING AROUND IN THE VANDA SECTION.

WE HAVE SOME PHOTOS STORED IN MY PICTURES FILE.
DO YOU KNOW HOW I GET THESE SENT TO THE RIGHT FILE ON THE ORCHID BOARD?

Ok Joe .. I'll go nice and slow for you ...

OK .. now ... best thing to do first .. is make sure your photos are small - the easiest way to reduce their size is with this little application - http://www.orchidboard.com/community...ng-images.html
When you are at this link - click on the here and download it .Once you have it downloaded, everytime you go to one of your photos and right click on the mouse to get the drop-down menu .. you will see a new option called 'Resize Pictures' - when you click on that - A small grey screen will appear that will ask you what size .. small, medium, large or handheld PC .. once you chose and hit OK .. it will create a newly sized photo in the file of the original photo.
Ok .. that done .. Go to the appropriate forum first .. to the upper left of this screen .. there is a site menu .. click on Forums ..
If these are plants other than orchids .. scroll all the way down to "Off Topic - Totally" - If orchids .. either 'Orchids in Bloom' or 'Member's Displays' or any of the alliances provided.
Once you click on a forum - You'll find the 'New thread' icon .. click that .. once you open New Thread screen for you to type a post .. look at the icons at the top of that blank screen .. and find paperclip ... click on it and it will bring you to a screen where you can chose from your files what photos you want to post ...
I hope this helps ..
