Hello from the Okanagan

Hello everyone! Im new to the Orchid Board but not so new to Orchids ive been playing with them from about a year and im up to 35 or so.


Anyone else on here from the okanagan? =)

Yes Orchids are very addicting! I need to figure out a better set up for mine i have about 30 stuffed on a 2 tier shelf lol.

Well.....I was just hoping that you might know of some undiscovered yet orchids gurus in BC!

There's one specialized in tropical plants in Richmond.

Lilia, Im not sure if you have an Art Knapp near you but i get alot of Orchids from them, once they stop blooming or if someone knocked a couple blooms off ect They often discount them to $5.00 or so. There isnt to many places around here (kelowna) that sell them. There is a guy in Peachland that has a greenhouse ( i think?) that id like to visit once it warms up a little

Paramount Orchids moved to Vancouver Island- they be opening in the Spring.
And yes we do have a few Art Knapps left around here-- but i never seen there orchids marked down that cheap.

Maybe the stores are different, one person here marks them down to 50% off and someone else marks them to $5.00 so i guess its maybe a matter of who is doing it at the time. I go there often sometimes twice a week to check for the "art knapp rescues: as i call them

I'm actually from Canada originally and lived in Kelowna once upon a time. In fact, I was a member of the Okanagan Orchid Society in Kelowna when I was 14 and 15 years old back in 1994 and 1995.
