Guess it's good to know I'm not alone.
And welcome, Cballen!

Thanks ElenaMarie. I hope I can get mine to bloom again next year. I googled the Paph Pinocchio and I think it has a beautiful and interesting flower.

Welcome Cameron! I'm originally from Texas myself. Was there for T-day near you in McKinney.

Howdy from East Texas
When you feel the need to talk shop with people face to face about your orchids, there are two orchid societies near you -- the Greater North Texas Orchid Society, and the Forth Worth Orchid society. Look them up on the web, and visit with them a while!
Bobby Dillon, among others, (but I know him) would be one to visit with about cattleyas if you ever go to GNTOS. Lots of nice folks at both places.
Take care
may all your orchids bloom like crazy

Thank you so much Polka for the information. I didn't know there was an orchid society in this area. I'll definitely have to check it out.

Aww, thank you! I was thrilled it actually bloomed. Up until recently I've only grown phals so it was a big deal to me. Alas, my DH just doesn't have the chlorophyll addiction.
If you're looking for the info on how best to keep your orchid(s) happy and blooming you've come to the right place. Best of luck!
