Thanks Jack. I am very fortunate to have found such a beautiful subject too!
Most folks are fascinated to see what goes into making a big fine art print. The shoot takes about half a day for the plant and the bloom and then it takes days to painstakingly remove the background and the wires supporting the plant or bloom. In the end it is worth it though.
One note: the plants don't really like the fluorescent lights in the studio so I don't keep them there that long. Liz and Don keep a plant on rotation in the studio next to their greenhouse business cards, but blooms don't stay on for long. I wish we had the kind of light that they loved, but on the other hand, it is a good thing getting new plants in all the time for visitors to appreciate.
