Hi All - Orchid Board

New orchid lover from Florida here. I once had an orchid, and thought I killed it. Though after looking around the forum for a bit I think it just stopped blooming... Poor thing.

However, I am now getting more interested in them. Thanks to Pintrest (true). I keep seeing these beautiful pictures of orchids, and I want them all! lol

My name is Nora. I'm a mother of 1, Levi. My husband, Arnie, and I have 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 birds, and a rather large garden out back. And he doesn't know it yet, but we're about to have orchids, lots and lots of orchids!

Is there anywhere around here that has the terminology laid out? I'm not sure what viv means. Or what a spike is. And I'm sure there will be more.

Hehe, I plan to go to Home Depot this weekend and check out their Orchid stock. Maybe there's something that will catch my eye, and I can get him another. lol.
