Hello! Nice to be here!
I will probably just be poking around, learning stuff, and commenting on photos for now.

I've seen some great plants so far!

I've had my orchid for about a year so far...which is really good since flowers just die once I look at them...(cut roses don't even last overnight with me & I don't even touch them!)

Needless to say...my plant hasn't had blooms since a week after I bought it. I got it at an Orchid Sale the hospital was having & didn't even think to ask what it was.

Regardless...I'm just glad that the plant is still green & alive!

The 1st photo is from when it had blooms

The second photo is current...it actually grew another "stalk" when I ignored it for a month. So I am actually very proud of it!
Light makes leaves looks lighter than they are.

Thanks for having me! I'll be around!

The spikes aren't green. Just light brown...tan-ish...but they have been there since the flowers fell off last October.

Should I move it to a smaller pot? Or leave it be? The stalk in the back right is the one that popped up all by itself.

Welcome to Orchid Board

The stalks are known as "canes" on a Dendrobium orchid like this and a new cane is always a good sign This sort of Den also grows "sikes" out the top (or sometimes out the side) of the canes, and it's on the spike that you find the flowers. You can see a spike in your first pic holding the flowers.

(Actually spike is probably not the right work scientifically, but folks here on OB use the word "spike" most of the time and most orchid growers will understand it if you call it a spike.)
