Hi everyone!

Just got relocated to Columbia, SC from Germany and just got bit by the Orchid bug. I bought my first Orchid a few weeks ago while shopping for the garden in my front yard. I found this board while looking for care information and have been addicted since. I have added six more Orchids over the last few weeks and have turned the window in my kitchen into a jungle. It's a bit crowded but I can pretend I'm doing dishes while on a Jungle adventure, lol. I have attached some pictures of my Orchids, I tried to link them from photobucket but I guess I am too new here to do that so I had to do it attachment style. Only four of them are blooming currently but I'm anxious to see the others in bloom as well. Hope to talk with everyone more and learn more as well.

What part of Germany have you moved from? I have close friends in Hamburg and Berlin. love Germany! I'm beginning to learn the language now.

Your kitchen window garden is loaded with some beautiful plants! very unique phalaenopsis and dendrobium!

My windows are full of plants as well. a jungle indeed!

Are you new to orchids as well? Many people will help you or you can contribute to others here.
I love visiting this website often to see pictures and get useful information.

Hope you enjoy the ride as well.

I love your kitchen window!!! I keep a lot of my blooming ones there, too, to inspire me each time I am washing dishes.

Have you checked out Carter and Holmes in Newberry? My sister used to live in Columbia and some of my first orchids came from there as babies.

Hope you feel right at home here in USA and on OB!

Welcome. Your kitchen window looks fabulous and will make kitchen clean up soooo pleasant. I've mail ordered from Carter & Holmes many times and I can say that they have great stuff. If they are nearby it might be a fun adventure to visit them.

Joe, window looks great. Now I believe you can get a shelf to put midway up that window and then you'll certainly have room for more orchids
