I've been growing orchids for about 20 years. Most are outdoors under shade cloth or a combination of shade cloth and plastic. They are not heated. I live in northern San Diego County about 18 miles inland. I have received AOS awards on Cymbidiums, Dendrobiums, Angracums and Cattleyas. I belong to the AOS, Orchid Digest, San Diego county orchid society, SD branch of the Cymbidium Society and the Palomar Orchid society.
