Hi from an orchid addict!

Hello everybody! I'm new to this forum, but I've been addicted to orchids for a while now! I can't stop buying them!

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me why a thread I'm trying to post won't go up. I have a question about mounting vandaceous orchids, and when I try to post the new thread, I get the following message:

Post denied. New posts are limited by number of URLs it may contain and checked if it doesn't contain forbidden words.

Does that mean it will go up after someone checks it to make sure it's okay? Or does it mean I've put something in my post that's not allowed? The only thing I put in there was a photo of my mounting setup.

If someone could give me some insight, I'd greatly appreciate it. I really need some help with this vanda issue, and it's frustrating to not be able to post my question. If it is just a matter of having my post "cleared," does anyone know when I might expect to see it go up?

Sorry you are having trouble posting. I think the error message is confusing, but it may be the problem with an image: either it's too big or you have to post few more posts before it will let you attach files. Hopefully this will resolve it.

This seems to be an issue that has come up a lot recently - I don't know if something has changed, but possibly has due to the amount of spam we were having for a while. I think you may need to post 5 times, before links in your posts are allowed (if posting photos using links from image hosting/sharing sites). I think (but am not positive) that you can attach photos directly to your posts using the attach button above the text field - this allows you to upload from your computer, without any number of prior posts required. If you try that and it doesn't work, please let us know.

Welcome aboard! Agree, there has been a lot of spam and it seems to have stopped. Maybe there is a screening of new members that wasn't there when I joined. Hope you can post soon.

I agree with Sonya on why you are getting the error message. It seems to be something new in the last few months and I think Marty must have added something to stop this because of all the spam.

I also think the attachments button works to load the picture to this site, so give that a try until you get over the 5 posts mark.
