It actually looks very dry, and your comment about the moss being dry and crackly matches with that. I would soak the roots of the plant first, possibly leave it with the roots in water for half an hour to an hour to give it a good drink.

I would then pot up, either in fresh moss or bark. I would keep it loosely tucked into a little of the old moss until you can get hold of something new. I've actually kept them bare root before and just watered daily (soaking the loose roots for about 15min). You can also lay it in a paper towel that you wet each morning. Just make sure any water on the leaves is dried off soon after watering.

When you pot up use a tiny pot, just big enough to hold the roots. If that makes it top heavy use an empty outer cache pot to stand it in.

Thanks I'll do that! I guess I have to water more often, it's tricky to follow advice when the weather here is so much different.

The flowers have all dropped and the stems are turning red, do i cut both stems to the 2nd last node now?
Anything i can do with the other two leaves?

Water when the moss is dry or almost dry but don't let it go dry for long. Many people put a wooden kabob skewer in the middle of the pot to tell them when to water. Pull it out and if the skewer is wet don't water if it is dry water. If your not sure if it is dry enough wait one more day and then check again.

If it was my Phal I would cut the spikes all the way off so the plant will put its energy into new roots and leaves. If you leave a few nodes on the old spikes they sometimes will branch and put their energy into more flowers. When the plant is ready it will put out a new spike. Blooming takes a lot of energy and some Phals will bloom themselves to death. But if your spikes are drying up then they need to be cut off and they won't branch unless they are still green. Good luck!

I think my roots are suffering from root rot, sections are just turning black and cracking away with the bottom parts still green! What do I do?! After I cut off the bad roots do i put cinnamon on the tips?

Before you cut anything off show us pictures! I think they are too dry not rotten. Rotten roots will be squishy, soft, and hollow. It really doesn't matter what color they are as long as they are FIRM. Sometimes the roots crack too and it doesn't mean they are dead. My Phal NoID has many cracked roots that are still alive. Don't cut anything until you show us pics because I don't want you to cut off roots that don't need to be cut off.
