It actually looks very dry, and your comment about the moss being dry and crackly matches with that. I would soak the roots of the plant first, possibly leave it with the roots in water for half an hour to an hour to give it a good drink.
I would then pot up, either in fresh moss or bark. I would keep it loosely tucked into a little of the old moss until you can get hold of something new. I've actually kept them bare root before and just watered daily (soaking the loose roots for about 15min). You can also lay it in a paper towel that you wet each morning. Just make sure any water on the leaves is dried off soon after watering.
When you pot up use a tiny pot, just big enough to hold the roots. If that makes it top heavy use an empty outer cache pot to stand it in.
