HI, My name is Shae. I live in Massachusetts and am a novice orchid grower. I am accomplished at growing house and garden flowers, herbs and vegetable. I like a challenge.

Default help with L.Anceps "Irvin"

Hi, the L. Anceps "Irvin" I purchased this spring did well for a time. It came home with no leafs on the shoots. There are now leafs on two of the 5 shoots.
I understood that this is the time for blooming. However, I see no signs of flower buds.
The orchid is planted in bark potting medium.
I water twice weekly with a very weak fertilizer (fish emulsion) and the plant gets a little sun.

Do I need to remove the shoots that do not have leaf growth?

Hello and welcome to the OB!
DON'T remove the shoots unless they are brown and dead. You have to stress the plant to make it bloom. That can be done many different ways. I'm not sure on your plant how to do it, I'm afraid. Can you post pictures? We LOVE pictures on the OB!
Again, welcome!
