Hello from Middle GA
I just got my 5th Orchid for Mother's day. However, the rest met an early death, and this time I'm determined to not kill it.
I'm an equal opportunity plant killer, the only plant I've had over a long term is an aloe plant, which I've had for almost 3 years.

Hello from outside the ATL! Glad to see another fellow Georgian on here Don't worry the people here are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and just a question away when you need them.

Here goes my first attempt at a photo. Clearly, I'm not a photographer. Thanks to the Stop the Phal abuse thread, I learned that the roots are more important than the stem and flowers.
P.S. Just Saying I refer to places in Georgia as Atlanta and outside of Atlanta.

Hello! Glad you found us! I'm glad to hear you haven't killed your aloe! We'll get you going on orchids! Tho do expect some fatalities - it's just part of the learning curve - I only say that so you don't feel like throwing in the towel if you struggle.

Haha, sorry I can be a little over zealous with my abbreviations
That's a beautiful phal you have and the roots look pretty nice too. Make sure if you have any brown/black hollow or mushy roots you trim them off right above the rotted part. Dab a little cinnamon on the tip of the root and if you have any Listerine on hand you can spray that on the roots as it has anti-fungal properties.

Welcome to Orchid Board.
Starting with the 'Phal Abuse ends here' thread is a good place to get a lot of info. Your plant looks good
