Ross, you hit the nail on the head: she hasn't grown at all in a few years. In fact, I'd forgotten how cool her blooms are:

They're all wedged in front of my 2'x3' frosted glass window, and I even got a gro-lite over them, set on a timer from 9 am to 8pm. I can't mist them, Tindo, because there are paintings on the walls nearby and various people get mad when they see fine art dripping.

If you felt like it, you could easily remove any of the kiki's on the Dendrobium and pot them seperately. They certainly have plenty of roots!

What type of grow lights are you using? If I were to do it, I'd set the timer for 7AM to 8 or 9PM. You'll want at least 12 hours of supplemental light for Dendros.

You can increase the growth of the Brassia with more light (grow lights) as well as a steady diet of fertilizer water during the growth period (usually spring/summer). I use a mix called MSU mix and RO (Reverse Osmosis) water every time I water. I get pretty steady growth. Check out tips on First Rays' Free Info for lots of free info on fertilizing and watering. Ray is one of the Board supporters. Good luck and ask away.

That's one heck of a keiki (Hawaiian word for "baby") !
Once the roots are 3 or 4 inches long, it can be removed and potted anew I have one very large Den that has about a dozen blooms on it right now...and they all stem from a keiki with one single very long root attached to the center of the cane! Dens are capable of anything!

I've also named a few of my plants, mostly the OB Project plants get named

Thanks everybody! Ross, I reset the timer. And Susanne, you're saying I should slice that shoot off? Taking as many of the roots as I can with it? When I repot it, do I cover all the roots with the soil mix?

My only reservation about cutting off the keiki is that it'll leave the rest of the plant in pretty miserable shape. It'd have three stalks -- two which already bloomed and a small one that doesn't grow. Still, there are a few new shoots coming up from the base.

As far as my new dendros, they're shaping up. Somebody told me to wash them off and then dab with alcohol. Worked like a charm! Now the buds are filling out and I think I may see blooms in a couple weeks. They may even grow on me (there's a pun you've never heard before) but I'm still not naming any of them Beans.
