Greetings from the Valley of the Sun!!
I found the introductions page after launching in with questions after buying my first orchid and getting referred to this site by a friend, so I'm kinda doing this backwards.
I think that my biggest question at this point would be...shouldn't orchid plants be sold with a warning label attached to them that gives you a heads up about how addicting they can be?! Seriously - who can stop at buying just one??!! LOL Happy growing, everyone!!

Welcome to Orchid Board! There's another member on this board who says that, even though orchids are not parasitic to the trees they grow on, they are paratsites to those of us who grow them because they suck so much money out of our wallets.

Thank you for the warm welcome, Tucker! I can think of worse things to spend my $$ on, that's for sure. I'm already looking at ways to rearrange things in my house to accommodate MORE plants, as well as closing in part of my back patio...

Welcome!!
Yes, orchids really should come with warning labels, much like packs of cigarettes. Closing off your back patio sounds like a very nice idea!
I've gone past the point of rearranging, I'm actually moving to a larger apartment partially since I've reached the limit of what I can cram into my small studio apartment. So now the orchids are in part to blame for the increased rent I'll have to pay as of next month....

I've lived in Arizona for less than a year and a half, and instead of finishing up the indoor projects on my house that I started (like painting-which is no fun whatsoever), I'm thinking about what I can do to make the orchids happy and increase their numbers

Welcome! Sounds like you have your priorities right! You'll fit right in here. Now we all want to know which orchids you're currently growing, and which ones you'd like to add.
