Hello!
Hello from Vermont!
Man I get nervous in a room full of strangers. So if I start babbling, bear with me.
I have returned to growing orchids after a 20 some year hiatus. I stopped because the apartment I was living in was small, arid, had lousy lighting, and no room for artificial environments. Four years or so ago, I moved into a house with a 5 ft long southwest facing window with a 6 inch sill over the kitchen sink. I started slowly, buying orchids from the grocery store (typical phalaenopsis) and have them in tanks. When they not only survived, but prospered, I started buying plants that were passed bloom, on sale. When they started re-blossoming for me I knew I was ready…. Unfortunately, I have filled the sill with grocery store plants…. Fortunately, my orchid preferences are miniature species, so there’s room for more! Now I spend my evenings drooling over ebay listings, and nursery websites!
I have three questions at this point, but since this is so long, I will hold them for some other time.
