There are also active groups in Tyler, and Nacogdoches, Fort Worth, and Dallas with judging centers in the DFW area, and Shreveport.
However --
what are you looking for? Folks in your area to meet and visit, or are you looking for Orchid Board Members who happen to also live in Texas??

I know about the Houston Orchid Society and I'm seriously considering joining. I meant a group on here of OB members. I think it would be fun and people could meet and greet if they wished.

I just joined, live to the SW of Houston, and am interested in Texas group, and in the wisdom of the larger group.

Well, I'm not sure what you can do about a Texas group here on the OB, but I am definitely interested in following this thread. I'm the 1st VP of the Heart 'O Texas Orchid Society in Austin and my first thought was you should definitely join the Houston society. Many of the Texas groups (Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Corpus Christi and Gruene) are all on the same circuit and combine forces to recruit speakers, thus the leadership has quite a bit of contact with one another. Joining your local society is definitely an asset worth exploring! Especially if you want to be active with orchid groups. Sorry I can't help you with an OB group though.
