You can always grab a cheap T5HO grow light for around $50, I have one in my living room over an aquarium tank, 3 orchids, and an assortment of other plants, Aqueon Long 20g in signature.

My condo is all north facing too, but my balcony plants do alright with about 1-2 hours of sun when around dusk.

So far the CFLs seem to be helping. I have a bit of new growth on my cattleya and some tiny new leaves on my phrags. Let's hope it continues. Thanks everyone for your advise.
