2 spikes on phal
Hi, My name is Tom and I am new to this site.
I have a phal with 2 spikes, one bigger than the other. They are both have flowers that are getting ready to open any day now. Is this common?

to the OB Tom!
I'm going to assume (ut-oh) that you are asking about the plant having 2 spike being common??
Not uncommon for a well grown plant, but most plants generally have one. There maybe times when a plant has several, both old and new, blooming at the same time. Depends on the plant itself and the culture given!

Some, due to genetics, are more likely than others to have multiple spikes. Your plant sounds very happy!

Welcome Tom!
2 spikes is not usual at all. A happy Phal with the right genetics can often make multiple spikes.

Welcome!
And as all the others have said, it's not uncommon if the Phal is cared for properly. My friend, who has green hands instead of a mere green thumb, had one Phal with nine spikes at the same time once.

Welcome to the OB Tom!
Lucky you to have 2 spikes. We would all love to see some pics when they flower - hint, hint!
