Thanks for the head's up about pictures. That would be nice - they should have pics above each section I think.
The trip won't be for a bit since he just got back from almost a week there. UGH! I would LOVE to get out there for the Chicagoland Orchid Festival. Maybe Eli's will be open by then...
We have a Chop House here - it's apparently the top 3% in the country or something? We ate there to celebrate DHs graduation. VERY expensive and completely worth it LOL!!! The best steak I've ever had and the blue cheese with the wedge salad was amazing! Shoot, you are making me want it... I just think Eli's is the best cheesecake ever made lol.
I was reading on Oak Hill's website that there are a few orchid nurseries within 40 miles so I told DH when he takes me he must rent a car and I will drop him off at work

You may enjoy some Cochleanthes if you are looking fro ay more windowsill lower light plants to accompany your phals....They bloom sequencally for a for a amount of time - fairly good sized white and violet markings; Great foliage, low light, I grow mine in "Pro Mix" (close to regular potting soil w/ heavy peat and perelite). Cochleanthes Amazing s a great hybrid - amazonica a good species....

I got myself a compact catt hybrid this week (since I had to go to the store for physan, I couldn't leave empty-handed).

and my Brassavola nodosa that I got last week bloomed. smells awesome, starting at about 8 pm.

Nice pictures. Love B. nodosa - it's night fragrance is so intense. It will be really great if your plants are in your living space.

Hi Scott,

Know that your nodosa wants to dry out between waterings. Constant damp will set it back.

thanks--they told me that at the store too, so I've been giving it essentially the same conditions as the catts. It's in sphagnum moss in one of those plastic perforated baskets so it ends up drying relatively quickly--water every 5 days or so.

Oak Hill is great, but you can't go there every weekend. Well, I did (almost) when I lived in Roselle, but it gets expensive.
