Hi All,
I am new member on the Forum.
My story.....
I grew orchids for about 5 years, until about 8 years ago. Mainly unusual species. Not really interested in hybrids.
I then had a disaster and gave up orchids to pursue my other passion - cacti and succulents.
What happened was that I moved house. It was in the midlde of summer, and I kept all my orchids on some shelving under a tree while my new greenhouse was put up. I then put my plants into my new greenhouse when it was completed. But even with shading and a fan blowing, the change in conditions was just too much. Most died instantly, and others were permanently damaged. This was in just a matter of hours. (So a warning to other members!)
Anyway, I was totally disheartened, and stopped growing orchids.
Last weekend I was in the area and decided to pop into the RHS London Orchid Show...... and now the bug has bitten again.
I came home with 2 Coryanthes that one of the international nurseries was selling. They are currently on a gravel tray on one of my windowsills.
Thanks
Sirius
