Hello from Northwest Alabama
I'm a new member of the Orchid Board and an orchid beginner. I started with a miniature Dendrobium that I've had for 10 or 15 years. It has taken a lot of abuse and still manages to bloom at least once a year. It's accident prone and seems to get knocked over about every year or two. Plus until recently when I learned better, it was potted in soil (Shameful, I know!).
Then I started rescuing Phals from Lowes about a year ago. (It's an addiction.) All except one is getting ready to bloom. On my most recent rescue visit, I bought a miniature Oncidium, Tolumnia Jairak, on the clearance shelf. I found the Orchid Board when I was googling for care instructions. I am impressed by the information and helpful atmosphere.
