Hi all,
I've never posted to a forum before, so I hope this is right. I just started growing orchids, and since I live in a high desert, I think it will be a challenge.

Welcome to Orchid Board! Since orchids come from diverse micro-climates, some will suit your environment and some won't. It would help if there's a local orchid society in your area. The members could give you some advice about which orchids they've been successful with in your area. Good luck.

A good resource might be New Earth Orchids, in Santa Fe. The web-site says they specialize in orchids. Ask them to recommend orchids that are easy to grow in that area.

Hi,
I have three "rescue" Phals, one Cymbidium, one Dendrobium and two Paphiopedilums, (one rescue). I work at a Lowe's, and wait until they go on sale.

Welcome! I'm so glad I don't work at Lowe's. I would be in big trouble.

You have a very good start to what will soon become an addiction.
